The email connection is used to send emails over any SMTP connection.
- Type: the type of email connection
- SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
- Host: the IP address or fully qualified domain name of the email server
- Port: the port on which the email server is listening for connections
- The default port is 25
- For SSL connections, the default port is 465
- User Name: the name of the user to connect to the email server
- Password: the password for the user to connect to the email server
The Xponent email adaptor is known to work with the following transactional email systems:
- Amazon Simple Email Service (SES)
- GMail SMTP Server
- Mailgun
- Has webhooks that can be used with the Xponent API
- Mandrill(now part of Mailchimp)
- Use Port 465 rather than the documented and suggested port 587
- Also, ensure that you're From: field is set to a full name and email of the form 'FirstName LastName <firstpart@domain.com>.'
