Email Connection

The email connection is used to send emails over any SMTP connection.

• Type: the type of email connection
  • SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
• Host: the IP address or fully qualified domain name of the email server 
• Port: the port on which the email server is listening for connections
  • The default port is 25
  • For SSL connections, the default port is 465 
• User Name: the name of the user to connect to the email server 
• Password: the password for the user to connect to the email server 

The Xponent email adaptor is known to work with the following transactional email systems: 

• Amazon Simple Email Service (SES)
• GMail SMTP Server 
• Mailgun
  • Has webhooks that can be used with the Xponent API
• Mandrill(now part of Mailchimp) 
  • Use Port 465 rather than the documented and suggested port 587
  • Also, ensure that you're From: field is set to a full name and email of the form 'FirstName LastName <firstpart@domain.com>.'
  • Has webhooks that can be used with the Xponent API
• Sendgrid 
  • Has webhooks that can be used with the Xponent API
